RNAi/Gene Function Analysis

The wealth of information produced by the genomics effort has provided science with many questions concerning the expression and function of individual as well as groups of genes. Exploring the complexities of the “transcriptome” necessitates the development of innovative methods and tools. With the expansion of RNAi technologies into mammalian systems, the ability to perform functional genomics and reverse genetics is more accessible than ever. NEB is committed to developing new tools to help scientists with these challenges.

ShortCut™ RNAi Kit
The ShortCut™ RNAi Kit is a complete system for the in vitro transcription and cleavage of double-stranded RNA (dsRNA) suitable for RNA interference (RNAi) studies in mammalian cells. It allows researchers to produce highly potent siRNA mixes against any gene and eliminates the trial and error approach required to design synthetic siRNAs.

ShortCut™ siRNA Mixes
ShortCut™ siRNA Mixes are highly potent, validated siRNA mixtures generated by NEB's proprietary ShortCut™ technology. They are effective at low concentrations (1–20 nM) and selectively knock down their corresponding gene targets. They are supplied in solution, ready for transfection.

TransPass™ Transfection Reagents
NEB introduces TransPass™ Transfection Reagents for the efficient transfer of siRNA or DNA into cells in culture.

ProtoScript® First Strand cDNA Synthesis
The Protoscript™ Kit is a robust first-strand cDNA synthesis system which is used in the identification and study of eukaryotic mRNAs. The kit facilitates the RT-PCR detection of both long and rare messages from a broad range of starting total RNA amounts.

HiScribe™ RNAi Transcription
The HiScribe™ system is a high efficiency double-stranded RNA synthesis kit suitable for RNA interference (RNAi) experiments and other applications requiring synthetic RNA.

The included dual T7 promoter vectors minimize the number of steps required for double-stranded RNA synthesis both in vitro and in vivo.

GPS® Transposon-based Systems
NEB’s GPS® transposon-based sequencing and mutagenesis systems are powerful tools for rapidly generating populations of DNA molecules with random insertions. In addition to mutagenesis, these insertions can be used as priming sites for DNA sequencing.
